ANDARES Received the Generous Support of the Spirit Mountain Fund

We are happy to announce that ANDARES received this year the generous support of the Spirit Mountain Fund to implement the project Building a Resilient Latine Community: A Community-driven Process. This project focuses on the socio-emotional wellbeing of the Latino community in Corvallis and follows the community mapping approach ANDARES has been using in other projects (see previous articles on this methodology here).

In this project, we will work with a group of ten members of the Latino community who will engage in a process of reflecting upon their culture and accomplishments as a community, will draw a map showing institutions, places, and people who are meaningful from the point of view of their socio-emotional wellbeing, will identify areas of concern, and will engage in creating action plans to address those areas of concern. The entire process rests on the community’s capacity to make change happen by recognizing their own capacity to lead that change. Importantly, this project builds upon support received from the Benton Community Foundation and from the Benton County Health Department. Our gratitude to these and all of our funding partners. Thank you!

The ANDARES team, with Keiri Lopez-Rosel, Gabriela Orellana, and Ricardo Contreras, receiving the award from the Spirit Mountain Fund team on June 17th 2026.
